Drifting
This may be suited better for the Teck talk area but a lot of you here seem to know this car quite well. ?? I drive a '96 S320 with 105k. It may just be me but the car seems to drift if I don't have both hands on the wheel. I'm talking flat, straight @ freeway speeds. I took it in and had an all wheel alignment done, wheels balanced and asked them to check front end parts for wear. everything was "good". But I still have a shimmy & the drifting. Its not bad mind you just seems like I need to correct the stearing a lot Any Ideas ??
Thanks Rod

do you notice this on all roads at highway speed or certain ones? I've had an alignment check done on my cars twice, as it turns out nothing was wrong. Recently, a lot of the roads have been getting rubberized asphalt to reduce the noise pollution. It appears that because of the relatively soft surface, and the extreme heat, that cars are "sinking" into the pavement and leaving an impression.
It's sometimes hard to see this at highway speeds. Next time you're stuck in traffic on one of the roads that was surfaced a few years ago (like US 60), take a close look at the surface. You'll notice both a lot of ridges as well as "tracks" from traffic.
