Intermittent ABS/ASR lights 1992 500SEL
Hey all,
I have a 1992 500SEL that I rescued from Arizona last year. Been working through its various gremlins and fixing stuff and one thing that persists is an intermittent ABS/ASR light. I cannot for the life of me get somebody to figure out what's going on. An experienced tech chased it down initially to a malfunctioning throttle body (wiring harness was fine as it's a 92) so I sent it to Victor from restoreyourmercedes and he went through it and cleaned it up and put it back together. Since then the car has been running well but those lights pop on at random on my dash and it annoys the hell out of me. I had a good two week streak without them and then after a full paint correction, I fired it up and they were on and it was idling a little rougher than normal. I've heard brake light switch, E-gas module, etc. It does have a somewhat questionable aftermarket stereo setup in the trunk, so maybe that has something to do with it? Any input/things to check would be appreciated. I really like this car but it just wants to be broken.
Thanks,
Andy
