seat comfort

OK long time owners.... I have 2 MB, an '84 190e & a '96 S320. The 190e seats are 10 times more comfortable. I have had 2 back surjuries and can ride forever in the 190e yet the S320 ( I love ) gets to me after relativly short drives. I bought the car with 98K so don't know what it was like new. Is this normal or is somethis perhaps broken - spring etc ? The leather is in perfect shape with no tell tale signs of a problem. I know this is probably a stange comment but I thought someone may have a clue if this is problem or just something I'll have to live with. Thanks
