96' S420
96 S420 -Trunk LCD Security Light
My friend has a 97 E320 that when you lock the car the trunk LCD light flashes red and when you unlock it it flashes green.
On the S420 it does the same but only on the rear view mirror. However there is a place for a LCD light on the trunk. Today when I was trying to get it to work I wasn't able to find a plug or anything. Did the 96 have a LCD on the trunk and if not, why would they put a place for the LCD?
On the trunk it is just left of the license plate frame and is about a 1 inch square.

The LED window is for earlier model cars and was discontinued for '96 - '99 models. If yours has the window, it may be an incorrect replacement part for a damaged original. The reflector strip between the tail lights is prone to cracking above and below the lock.
