1996 S600 Flex disc and center bearing replacement
Hello All!
I recently bought a 1996 Mercedes S600 and it needs some work done to it... After calling around, the MB dealership has refused to work on my car because it is older than the year 2000 and the other German auto repair shop in the area quoted me $1,700+ to replace the flex discs and center bearing. Is it possible for me to do this with the help of my spouse (who has worked on diesel mercs before)? We already planned on doing the brakes and rotors ourselves, but every video I've seen on flex disc replacement looks pretty wild. Are there any factory repair manuals that detail the process? Thanks for any help yall can provide!

There is nothing so special about doing flex couplers that you can’t replace them yourself.
I don’t recall if the center support for the driveshaft is accessible without removing exhaust.
