Where is the 722.6 transmission electronic connector on the 1999 W140 S320
I have a 1999 S320 and am trying to replace the leaky electronic connector on the auto tranny but cannot find where it is located. Did they do away with it in 1999? I have attached a photo of where I am looking, I even removed the heat shields and cannot find it behind that. Where is it in this photo? I have also attached a photo of the part I am trying to replace.
Is it behind the orange tab in the upper right corner?

Remove small cover to access then rotate release to remove harness connector. Forward right side of transmission. Fluid is going to pour out when you pull the bushing. Go easy on the bolt, don't cross thread or over torque.

So is it behind that orange tab in the photo I uploaded? Is that the small cover to which you are referring?

That looks like the cover. You can see the harness going under the cover from the rear.
The photo below shows how the conductor plate connector points forward and to the right side of the transmission.

Thank you so much for taking the time to include such a helpful diagram, I really appreciate it and will remove that orange cover and see if it is behind there.

Thanks yes it is certainly a different mix of cars!
BTW you were right, it was behind that orange plate, and on the 1999 the cover for the connector looks a little different.
I sprayed electrical connector cleaner on the pins after I removed the connectors, does that cleaner seep into the transmission fluid if I clean the connector pins with it (the pins that remain on the transmission).
