300 Se?

Ok, Got more Questions and problems.

1. Why does The Air out of the A/C Smell like rotten eggs when you turn it on?
1.5 The A/C Blows hot air when you put the A/C on the coldest setting, I've gone from A/C shop to A/C Shop, all telling me that the A/C was Full and the problem was the Climate control panel. Could this be true?

2. The little "Wings" in the rear that pop out when in reverse dont go down all the way, I constantly have to push them down. Is there a fix?

3. What are the RPM's that your 300SE/S320 Shifts to 2nd from 1st at?, mine does this at 3300 RPM, seems kind of high.

4. The car wont start right away. it has to crank itself for 20 seconds before it will try to start. Timing? Ignition?

5. Gas. I am getting about 380 Freeway Miles for a whole tank of gas. Could it be burning to much fuel and be somewhat a part of the starting problem?

6. Cooling. what temperature are the fans infront of the radiator supposed come on at? Over the weekend I drove through through Tejon Pass and back (probably not the smartest thing to do), when i got home i noticed smoke came fom the engone compartment. I thing that it slightly overheated-Changed the coolant and hoses.

7. When are the wipers on the headlamps supposed to go on?

1. you need to replace your climate control air filter its probably covered in mildew

1.5 sounds like you need new freon, or possible freon leak

2. lube them up with silicone lubricant ($3 at local auto store) and wipe them down to make sure there are no deposits and etc that could cause them to jam up (like dirt and sand and etc).

3. the tranny holds gear depending on temperatures, does your do 2nd gear start or first gear start? mine does 2nd gear start. you might try Redline ATF D4 transmission oil for smoother shifting and etc

4. thats very weird, never heard of that. sounds like fuel delivery problem, maybe fuel filter or fuel pump

5. i doubt its running that rich, if you really think it is you can always get intake, that will help your gas mileage (look at my Intake thread, it was on 300SE too).

6. my 300SE runs at a very cool 82 degrees and has not gotten any hotter then that unless i am at full acceleration for a long time. make sure coolant levels are good. add one or two bottles of Redline Water Wetter to your coolant and it will drop temps significantly.

7. this one i have no clued, i've been through 4 benzes and never figured it out.

1. Might/Will Still have to replace Cabin Air Filter
1.5 Still Kind of Smells, gotta Replace the filter
2. lubed them up.
3. I was told to use Blue Bottle Bosch? ATF, The Darn thing still wont work the way i would to think it should, Right when you let go of the gas pedal the hunting Starts, I might have to ask the shop to replace it Since it is Still under warranty.
4. I guess a slight Tap to the gas while starting could be a fix...

I sometimes have that starting problem too. Doesnt do it all the time. Most of the time it fires right up, sometimes it takes a couple seconds. Did all the tune up stuff along the way but it didnt make any difference. Try giving it a little gas while you are cranking maybe? Seems like an electronic glitch to me. My car has 224,000 miles on it by the way

As for #7, mine operate when you use the windshield washers. I think the headlights need to be on too.
