Would these parts have anything to do with my car's problem?
My 93 S600 starts but sputters and dies after a few seconds. This happens only with the engine totally cold, as when it has not been used overnight. Stepping on the gas to keep rpm up keeps the engine running, but engine dies as soon as I take my foot of the gas. Oddly, if I am able to shift to "Drive" and drive off right away, engine does sputter a bit at first but then runs normally after about 200 meters.
No problem when starting a hot or warm engine, though the idle will be rough for few seconds when starting a semi-cold engine.
Was told by the mechanic I need to replace these items Part#120 140 1290$60 and 000 141 3925 $2100!!!. What are these parts called?
Would anyone know if these parts have anything to do with my problem? Specially the latter ($$$) one, Id hate to spend that much and discover that its not defective.

the first part doesnt come up on my american EPC - the second one is basically the throttle housing... my system (ok out of date) says its 1790 dollars and for cars up to 1993 - so it sounds like he knows his stuff...
what about a) taking it apart and cleaning it / the contacts inside it (theres a small motro inside there) - or b) find a second hand one?
