Exclamation Help with Lorinser Wheels

I just purchased a used set of Lorinser LM-1 Wheels, and I need a little bit of help! When I installed them the wheels started to shake when driving so I found out that I may be in need of some hubcentric rings. The wheels have been balanced so that is not the problem. Does anyone know somewhere that I can get them from or find out any other information like if they have an adaptor of some sort? The wheel size is 19x9 for the front and 19x10 for the rear.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Most tire and wheel shops should be able to get you hub rings. Also, some aftermarket wheels require different type seating wheel bolts, so make sure you have the right kind.

Well, I went to two aftermarket wheel shops that are in my area (Toronto, Canada) and they say that the actual size of the ring itself is much larger than what they stock, and actually have never even seen one that big before. As with the bolts, I had to purchase longer ones so that they would fit properly so that has been taken care of. I don't know if its just that they don't know what they are talking about, but I'm going to try and get a second opinion. Does anyone else have Lorinser wheels on their w-140 who could verify if they are using hub rings?

You might want to call Discount Tire Direct. They can send you the right hub rings as long as you have all the model information for your wheels

Could be bent rim bad tire or balance

When does the shaking occur? At any speed or between certain speeds? Unless you actually watched the wheel get balanced to 0 they may not be balanced correctly. If the shake occurs at or between a certain speed they are not balanced correctly. If it shakes at any speed, it could be a bent rim or a bad tire. A lot of tire techs will get within .25 and let it go but on certain vehicles such as ours .25 can be felt so I would have them check the balance again for which they should'nt charge you anyway.

Hi
I have Lorinser wheels on my w140 as well.
Your problem is that Lorinser usually make their wheels for different applications.
So they make a standard Rim with a big center and + 40-50 Offset and sometimes drilled for different bolt patterns.
You only need the correct adaptors than to make it fit for your car. You can have adaptors for w140 w210 w211... or on BenZ ( 5x112 ) and Lexus ( 5x 114.3) at the same time. So you can use the same Rim on different cars.
You need to get a proper adaptor for the w140.
Of course there can be other oproblems with the Rims . but I think this will solve it.
You can order it from Lorinser( VERY EXPENSIVE) or try to find somewhere else.

BMW
check www.wheelspacer.com. but you'll need to send your rim to them so they can make you a custom set. Shouldn't cost more than $40-50 apiece. Ask for Fred.

The shaking occurs at speeds anywhere from 40 - 80 km/h (roughly 25-45 mph). but when I hit highway speeds it stops. However, when slowing down you can start to feel the shake again. I got new brake pads, rotors, discs, etc. so I know that it has nothing to do with them. I guess this is what I get for buying them used. I can't even get in contact with the guy whom I purchased them from to ask him if he has the adapter. He had these same wheels on a 97 E-class.

Thx for the website! Only problem is I live in Canada, and sending my rims down to Cali can sort run me a few chips. I may try and find someone here who has the ability to do the same thing, but if I can't solve this by early spring, then I'm going to have to sell the rims. I need to have my W140 looking clean for the ladies in the summer.
