new inst.cluster-will miles stay same

i have to change my instrument cluster on my 2000 S430,if i get used one and plug it in will it show my original mileage or mileage from the other car where cluster is from, also where could i find that cluster removal tool?

No idea about the tool.
I believe that the mileage is stored in the computer, not the display. Your car will show it's own mileage regardless of displays.

stenen is correct-the mileage of your vehicle is stored in numerous places,but what you see on the display is stored in the instrument cluster. If you get a used cluster it will NOT adopt the mileage. You need to buy a new cluster from the dealership.

if i buy new one from dealership will they be able to adopt my mileage or will it start from 0.

Independent of the cluster is new or used, the Mercedes workshop can adopt the mileage with Star-Diagnos Instrumnent.

I can tell you that I have an extra used instrument cluster in good condition for sale.
