50K Service ? and Bay Area Referral... Medhi?

Just wondering if anyone heard of a guy named Medhi from the Walnut Creek/Vallejo area. He works on BMWs and Benz.

Also, how much is
-a 50K servicing supposed to cost on an S500?
-full brake job (all around) going to cost to replace pads, sensor and discs?

Thanks.

We live in Santa Cruz but we usually do our service over at Smythe European in San Jose. I heard that Stead European in Walnut Creek is reputable.

"All Mercedes" in Oakland has done reliable work for me at a much lower cost than other places.

I think Beshoff in San Jose is one of the best (and honest) MBZ dealer in the bay area. My wife always gets great advice from them... Never tried to sell her any fix/service that wasn't needed.

50k Service

I'm living here in NC and recently had a 50k service done on my 2001 S500. The Benz dealer told me I needed pads on all four wheels, sensors, and rotors. Total cost for the brake job about $900. Now here is the better part. They also found that my transmission seals were slight leaking........ummm, another $180. I told them that the driver side power assist (pneumatic) door was not shutting properly. I was told the door latch needed replacing.........$860 for parts and labor. And then of course they performed the "B" service $375. Total cost $2315.

It gets even better. The pneumatic door that they fixed worked fine for about a day. I returned it to the dealer today and they told me that the module needs replacing because somehow transmission fluid has leaked over all the modules. This is the modules that controls the door locks, trunk locks and a few other things. I'm told the wiring harness needs to be replaced. The estimated cost of the job is $5500. Will someone please tell me how a car that cost almost $100k springs a transmission seal leak that sprays the fluid all over the wiring harness.

So it's probably reasonable to do 50K service at 49K miles, when a car is still on warranty and repair cost paid by a manufacturer.
