UK S 320 L (wiv loads a toys)
Question Migrating from a Nokis 6210 to a 6310i

Hi,

I have a UK 2001 S 320 L awesome. It comes complete with linguatronic and pre wired phone kit for a Nokia 6210. The dealer tells me a that it will cost a fortune to convert which is usually b*llocks.

Can i simply buy a 6310i cradle and fit it or do I have to do anything else to it? I like the idea of the UHI and it's ability to change handsets in the future. Would my beast have this ability?

Any advice appreciated.

Would this also be the case for the Nokia 3110 set-up in my '00 S500?

It seems as long as the connection is the same, then the cradle should be a straight swap?

Apparently not. I am told (by the dealer and others) that it may need a new control box and antenna adaptor.

I cannot seem to get a direct answer which is a real bummer.

You need to get the updated module installed. It is not simply a matter of a software update as I initially thought. MB Australia did a rollout of updates for all MBs bought after a certain date. I don"t know about the UK but I am guessing if they haven't already updated it, then you will probably have to pay for it yourself.

Getting it from the dealer would cost a fortune but you could try Steve (aka MBenzNL and sponsor on these forums). He can get parts for a fraction of the cost the dealers charge.

Hi Jet, I'm in OZ as well, what are the details of these MB Australia updates? What is the magic date??? I have just purchased an '02 CL55 that works with a 6210 and not the 6310i.....I am assuming that this was done because the 6210 has been avialable in quite some time!!!!

Cheers and thanks in advance D
