In the market for a 2002-2003 S430...anything I should avoid?
I plan on getting a S430 for my dad as a special gift. He's always wanted one and I now have the means to make that happen. I'm thinking of a 2002-2003 S430 with the AMG Sport package. What kind of prices should I be looking at? Also, are there any things I should look out for in those model years? Thanks

'81 380SL/dual cam chain-LT4 vette-Z06 ('03) vette-I need a bigger garage....
Of utmost concern will be mileage and year because you will NEED an extended warranty...believe me!
On our '01 S430 with only 44k miles, we purchased an extended warranty that covers bumper to bumper for the next 4 yrs/up to 85k miles for only $4400. I believe it is through ford motor e-z plan. I suppose one can purchase an extended warranty for any make vehicle through ford. Just make sure the vehicle is still in factory warranty and you need 30 days to get the paper work consumated. By the way, we purchased the extended wrnty at the merz dealer last month.

I agree with srknutson.. Also, the front bumper is a bit different, too.. As a matter of fact, I think all the bottom side-skirts are slightly updated.. And if I'm not mistaken, there were some interior updates with the 2003 as well.. All minor, but they make a difference... Mainly, those clear front lamps make a big difference to me...
