Mercedes BS wiper blades!

Is it just me? I have had these damn things replaced 4 times over the last 3 years I've owned this car!! What gives? So It's the 1st rain of the season here in SB, and wouldn't you know it my driver side wiper blade is shuddering and doing a pathetic job of trying to clean the windshield....They just replaced these in May 05' on my last service So I drive to the stealer and get the run around from a service rep that there's no warranty on them and to by replacements for $110.00!!!!!! or to go to Kragen and buy some ****y windshield spray to make them work properly....I insisted he check the records of my service history and see if they are covered, guess what? they are for 12 month warranty, they ended up replacing both sides for free! after my insistance....What a joke these things failed in 6 months w/out a single DROP OF RAIN!! great fuken quality Mercedes! Hell my 1969 Ford Bronco has the original blades and they still work perfectly what's that Ford 36 years and Mercedes 6 months Come to think of it I have never had to replace any wiper blades on the other non-Mercedes (12+ cars) I've owned over my life time including my 1997 31ft Chapparal that's docked in the Harbor, you'd think w/all the weather exposure they would fail if anything....

Never had a problem w/ mine (S500/W220/'00), and don't recall others on this or other forums mentioning it. Good luck w/ yours.

Had that chatter thing going for months, even with new blade. Then I did
something that stopped all chattering and squeeling, even if only misty and
not raining:

Took can of silicone spray (auto supply store). Spray onto rag and use
see-saw motion to apply on blade. Did this liberally....for 2-3 minutes.
Anecdotal, yes. But I've not applied any dressing to glass so this was
the only change I made. Coincidentally (or not) the blade has been
eerily silent for 12 mos now. No streaking, either.

Mine did same thing, wax your windshield when you wax your car. The "bbrrrerrrerrerrup" sound will go away. I used zymol on mine and it left no residue or streaks.

Good luck,
Scott

Mine also shudders across.. I've replaced them last year.

It shudders mostly when its misty outside. I think my right side wiper kinda leaves a smudge mark after it wipes.
