Engine stutters on idle...help!

My father has a 2002 S430. Ever since he shipped his car from Australia to Malaysia it has been stuttering regularly when the car is idle on 'D'. I noticed that when it's idle, the rev counter is halfway between 0-1 (500 rpm?). Ever so often, it would then start to stutter, as if there is not enough fuel or something. When it is stuttering, the car will not move even when the acellerator is depressed. It is only after the acellerator is depressed about half way will the car move and when it does, it does so in a lurch.

I suspect some moisture or gas bubble may have gotten into the fuel line but I don't even know how I came to that conclusion I think it had something to do with the fact his car had to be completely drained of fuel before it was shipped and something went wrong somewhere in the process. But it's just a theory without any technical basis. Therefore, any help here would be appreciated.

1st I would try some Chevron Pro-Gard Fuel Injector Cleaner
2nd Have someone plug into the car to see what it says ? MAF bad ?
3rd I would check the plugs which should be fine but you never know ?

Also check what grade of fuel you are using. Ensure you use only premium gasoline with octane rating of 91 or higher and make sure it's unleaded.

Sounds like water in the fuel. Use what ever products are available in that part of the world for that problem. The Chevron injector cleaner is a good suggestion. They make a version called Techron that works very well. It's about $12/bottle US. Good luck...that can be frustrating.
