Help, Newbie
What's Up! I'm new to the forum. My name is Russell. I have a 2000 s430. I have used the search option but need some more advice. I recently rotated my tires and the drivers side is sitting lower than the pass. side. The airmatic is raising and lowering the car. I hear the compressor cutting on and off. The level of the car was fine before I rotated the tires. I checked for air leaks on the top of the struts. No leaks there. (But I do see some small cracks on the black housing) Also there is a buzzing sound almost like a whine coming from the engine bay. Not sure where it is coming from. Anybody out there can help?

Where can I buy the repair kit and how much? Does anyone here rotate their own tires? Would a suspension calibration fix the problem with the drivers side. Or did I mess something up when I jacked up the car?

![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I checked the cracks on top of the suspension again. I sprayed with windex and shook the car. It shows I do have a leak on the driver side when I shake the car. Since there is a leak, would that cause the compressor to constantly run? I believe the loud hissing, whinning noise is the compressor. The noise has gotten louder and more frequent, to where everytime the engine is running you can here the whine. How do I check to see is the rear shocks are leaking? Also there is a clicking noise coming from the drivers side of the engine bay.
Does anybody know what part this is

I'm no expert, but I would say get thee to thy dealer, as soon as possible. Have it checked, and repaired if necessary, before you do some real damage.

Just spoke with MB of Cary. The repair kit is only $124 per shock. Has anyone done this repair? I will also get a relay switch for the compressor.

Thanks, I just posted over there. I went to the dealer and picked up my repair kit, I got it for 115 with tax. I priced a compressor and was surprised that it was only $240. I was shocked. The parts guy said MB lowered the price. I also get 15% off.
If I can fix the cracks , I'll post a DIY.

I wouldn't try to DYI on something like that, but guess it will be cheaper--unless, of course you break something even more expensive in making the repair.
Good luck!

Airmatic
I've replaced a compressor and relay as the relay sticks and kills the compressor. It's wise to repair the leak as soon as possible so your compressor doesn't run more than it needs. As a note, I had a line pop apart (came out of the sleeve) which had to be repaired today FOC.
