Water Leaking into the car

I know this has been covered somewhere in this forum but I could'nt find it. Can some one explain to me why water is leaking from my front passenger side foot vent. While raining heavy yesterday my wife's feet got wet and she made one of those comments you dont like hearing about your ride. "Mmmmhhhhh, Mercedes, leaking????? I told you not to buy........."

Anyway, can someone tell me how to stop this leak. I know it's something to do with cleaning some drain plug or something in that line but how do you get to it? Any help will be great.

I remember reading it...I can't find it using the search. I think I recall that you access the drain hole through the passenger side cowl vent cover. I remember that if the drain hole gets plugged that the water will find another way to run "down hill". Good luck.

I found the plug but the damage has already been done. Water leaked into the compartment and has shorted something out. I now have a list of problems as a result. 5 mulfunctions displayed, my vacuum assist will not close the doors, am getting the doors open trunk open errors, airmatic, ABS, defective display, ESP and many more. Little things BIG problems, money, money, money.

With your hood open, there is a vent on the passenger side covered with a plastic mesh. You have to pull that mesh open and stick your hand all the way to the bottom of that air intake. At the very bottom you will feel a plug and so just use your finger to check it. Your finger should be able to go through that hole. If it does, it clean, if not just push your finger through it.

I have managed to get most of the repairs done but now I'm down to my rear lighting. I still dont have my reverse lights and my turn signals only on the rear. My vacuum assist for the trunk is not working and my display says Defective display. I think it's my signal activity module but I dont know which one it is. Everything else works fine. Man, clean that stupid plug or pay the price.

I had the same thing happen yesterday, cleaned out the clogged drain, did you figure out how to fix the error codes and door locks?

you need a scanner to clear everything. pulling battery helps. these cars are finicky with electrical components coming back to life

for your other issue like doors, isnt that the PSE pump"?
