If we have the CD or Radio on we can't hear her say what's next. The Nav volume control setting has no function up or down. I had the car into the dealer for some other items last year...on of which was reprograming the Nav/Sound system with a firmware/software upgrade. Wonder if this caused this problem? Anyone else had this problem?

i think the nav volume can be adjusted only when the lady is talking, at least that is the case with my comand 2.0 in my w202, never had to adjust the volume on my s-class yet so i can not confirm on the s-class but worth a try.

linuxfoo is correct. You have to adjust nav volume while nav instructions are being given. If the instruction isn't long enough, use the repeat button ("RPT").

Thanks guys...it was so obvious...I was trying to use the Nav volume setting when all you have to do while she is talking is hit the repeat button and turn the volume knob at the same time.

...Or use your steering wheel volume buttons (+ -). RPT only needs to be used if a single instruction isn't long enough to let you make adjustments.

Really nice color on your car!

You can also change the volume by going to the Nav settings on the bottom of your screen and you will see a volume adjust option. The lady will say "TEST" so many times as long as you need while you adjust the volume. Works for me all the time.
