We can buy a 'benz w/o speed limiter?
This might be oldnews but it's new to me. Has anyone on the board done this?

2004 S500 & 2011 Mini JCW
The only way I know of is an ECU change with the limiter taken off. Most performance shops that hop up you ECU take it off as part of the upgrade.

According to the link if you order option 030...you are 186 MPH capable in the USA.

This option comes only with the AMG S-Class and is very costly($10K-15K). Instead of doing that just buy the AMG and get the ECU upgraded for around a grand. The AMG is capable of doing 180 plus M/Hr.

I think it may be no limiter at all, but they say 186 because of tire ratings?

030 was never offered with the W220. 186 would be max. with Z rated tires.
