ok GUYS! need Your in-put! 03 S500! has 37k on it
The car is a sale by owner in NYC he sent me a full car fax report and it all looks 100% the car was only driven 10k miles a yr S500 2003 /w 37k on it.. he has an offer @ $43,000 so he "says" I told him that I was willing to give him 40,500 but am willing to pay 41-42k for it if needed...
has the xenon lights has the cd mag, nav cd, mats, all the stuff.. I am wondering what else I need to know before going further with this deal? Im new to the S class scene and would like to know what you guys think.. 1 owner car of course
im trying to get someone I know in NY to go check the car out for me.. im not 100% if I want to go up there or not ...

he won't go under 43000 for it... and personally I still need to pay taxes shipping and pay to get the car checked out.. I wanted to be around 42 43 after im all done with that not just starting at that.. of course im willing to take more miles then 37k but he puts an ad in 43 or best offer i tell him final offer 41,900.00 and he sticks his nose up at almost 42 grand... good luck to him...
keep in mind I live in CRAPPY Jacksonville FL coming from Boston Ma. so 90% of the cars here are american and pick-up trucks... I can not see myself in them so because of that the private market ... there isn't one and there is ONLY 1 Benz Dealership here and they market up prices like you read about each 03 S class is 48-50+k " because they come with 100k miles"
No they come with 2yrs OR 100k whatever comes first.. hmm Can I drive 100k in 2yrs? Wow... + its not a Factory warranty so it covers almost half of what the 50k warranty does... they know how to screw you and they are good at it! .. Also its EASY for them to do it here because who else has them? Oh another thing THEY ONLY CARRY 5-6 S Classes!!! Only Benz Dealer with only 5 - 6 to pick from! and 3 of them are 06s!!! 1 is an 05 and 2 are 02s they are asking 45k for the 02s rofl GIVE ME A BREAK!

I find that in these situations it usually pays to give it a little time. Tell him you'll pay 41900 for the car because it's going to cost 1,000 to ship it to where you live. Tell him the offer stands for a few months and to keep you in mind in case the other guy falls through. Chances are there probably is no "other guy", and with 10 days he'll be accepting your offer.

ive been on every dealer's butt for low 40k range for an 03 s430 .. this is a s500 which is great..
I have some paper work for who knows what to look for in the carfax and service history please email me when ya can
