Airmatic behaviour?

Is this a ment to be as a comfortable equipment or is it a malfunction?

Sometimes when I lock/unlock doors with remote, car seems to lower itself simultaneusly.

For example when I get to car, open doors, there goes this "hiss" sound from struts and car lowers for a bit?

Thanks,
car is 2000 S320 Lang

Hi, no sweat, this is normal when ever you leave the car and lock it the airmatic comes down within an certain time. It depends on additional other control inputs if and when it does it.
...just an other experience I had recently: I was about to swap my tires from snow tires to summer tires, and jacked up the rear left side relatively high. Swapped the tires and released the jack. HORROR: the car came down almost until the tires rubbed the inner plasitc fendor. Right side perfectly ok. The first thing I did checked my warranty papers: second shock 3 days out of warranty. Checked the fault monitor NOTHING. Started the car, the Air Matic compressor came on and lifted the car back up. The first thing then was to drive to the dealership, to file my claim (3 days late). I talked to the technician, and told him the story. He started laughing and said this happens every spring and fall to a number of people, and it nothing to worry about. Hope he was right, so far still good.

Hi koreanpers,

Have you installe an aftermarket sub on the place for original.
Did you have to do anything special, and does it sound way better?
Thanks.
