The gearshift knob on my 2003 S430 is loose and I can rotate it about 1/8" in each direction. Anyone with a quick fix?
thanks

Take out the knob, put a small amount of tape to the expossed shifter and force the knob back in.

It actually sounds like that it is not inserted all the way in.

Rotate the twist lock (the lower chrome ring at the bottom of the knob) clockwise? don't remember which direction...

Pull the knob off and insert all the way with a bit of force and then tighten it by rotating the mentioned cap the other way until you feel a slight click.

Hope it doesn't have keyless go; then rotating can easily kill the contacts inside.

3M Black Electrical Tape
Two layers of tape did the trick.....
Duct Tape and MB just don't go together, and I bet they get $95 a roll at the dealer.
