Call your dealer parts manager or someone in parts that is sharp on this for an explanation..... or call MBUSA customer service for an explanation. BTW...didn't the law recover the key with the car?

Then again...you could leave the S in the drive way and set up a machine gun nest on the roof...and wait.

I'm curious...any significant degradation of the muzzle velocity

w/suppresion?

Im having the wife call MBUSA right now and see what they say .. my local Dealer is a complete waste of time ... and no the law just found the car in the driveway no key ... so they put it on the back of a tow truck and towed it away ...

but I like your idea better about doing the good old S500 Bait and I can sit on top of the roof across the street with my .300 Win Mag ... and pick the *******s off from 300 yds out ...

muzzle velocity .. well for the suppressor to work better subsonic ammo is preferred ... thats why the .45 cal USP tactical .. then its really quiet ... you didnt see the video on that site .. with the .308

Thats not cool what happened to you man. But good you got the car back all teh same. Were there no gate cameras at your place? Suprised how the car was only 5 miles away from where you live Did the cops manage to get teh guys or did they just find the car, which is why there is no key. Amazing how they just had it sitting in the driveway. But glad it is back all the same.

ray,
Glad to hear you were able to recover your car. What a story!

I'm curious now, is your car branded as a "Theft Recovery" on your title or is that a non issue because damage was minimal? Speak with your local authorities on how that goes as that is not a good thing.

Wow, glad to hear that you got the car back, and in one whole piece.

I think I'm wrong, but if you get a 'replacement' key, then all other previous keys are no longer usable.

I read the thred but considering the key has not yet been found. However I would have expected him to mention if the car was stolen in that why when he said that the car was scratched a little but the interior was fine.

about the garage door, just unplug the actually unit in the inside that opens and closes the garage if you don't get time to uninstall it.

hey, ray.... the garage door! LOL!

my go-to ride is still my 83 Nissan pick up. German Sheperd and I do errands
in that bucket. yrs back i put in 2 cut out switches and placed them inside
the vehicle. wired in series. last year, some punks did the slap hammer
trick to the ignition and got as far as a block by cranking it. but they got
tired trying to figure out why it wouldn't start. best $10 and an hour laying
out the wiring.

haven't felt the need to do this to the Benz.

If insurance is paying for it...get the best you can get. I would negotiate this with the insurance company...If you repaint the car and it is not striped to the primer, it will "meter" high with a paint thickness meter. The original paint thickness is 4~5 mils. If the repaint is higher than that it will show up on a paint thickness meter that all high end lots and dealers use to determine if a car has been damaged or repainted. I have seen dealers try to knock off $10K on cars that "meter" high. To be on the safe side...have MB dealer do it and document it. In your damage claim with your insurance company, negotiate a high settlement because of this diminished value issue with a repaint.

the car is sitting at the dealer now and got a quote from them to fix all the damage 14K holly crap .... insurance adjustor went and he said that the car should just be spot painted and they will only pay 4K WTF ?

since I have never done an insurance settlement like this do I have to accept that offer for repairs even though MB is saying 14K to fix it ... any lawyers in the group that can advice on this ....

some of the items that are broken might be able to be covered under warranty ?

4 Wheels = $ 4800.00 I can get some HRE for almost that much ...
