tinting question on S430 w/sunshade
Is it true that you can't tint an S-Class with the sunshade option because of the factory purpleish tint? Are there ways to circumvent this? thank you.

I have had two S-Classes in the past and they were both tinted. One was really dark (almost limousine) and the other I would say medium. I had the tint removed on both cars and never had any problems with window defroster or any other problems. Also, I never had any problems with the sunshade before or after they were tinted.
Tinting laws vary by state. Where I live it has to be 25% or less otherwise you will constantly get pulled over and your car will not pass inspection.
To be on the safe side you could contact a MB dealer and ask them if either they do it or recommend the person that does the work on their behalf.

The w220's didn't come with factory tint. The purple reflection appears because of the special glass they used for the windows and how thick they are. I just got limo tint (5%) on my S500 and it looks great. It brings out the purple reflection when it is dusk or dawn, but the side windows don't have it I think its just the front and back of the car but when you add any tint film to it, it stands out a lot more.

Mirrors too dark
With tinted windows and the mirrors automatically dimming they become useless. Is there any way to turn that feature off on all the mirrors?
I never liked the auto dimming feature. I've never been blinded by other cars. And at night you can only see the lights of other cars in the rear view mirror. Can't even tell if the car that's tailing you is a cop. Anyone else having this problem?
