The Latest is that the dealer offered to replace the window but at my expense on labor. Which comes close to $600.
I decided not to do it. I didnt think I should have to pay to fix the problem that MB should handle. Window should not fail unless impacted... Period..
Customer service rep at the MBUSA call center was rude.. She didnt understand the concept of Non-wear parts. and the word "defective".. Pretty much put it as "It is not meant to last for ever." after the initial warranty period. She will not escalate the issue and told me to call again to speak to a different rep if I'm not happy. Proceed to email my Dealer to try to jeopardize my dealer offer to cover the part.. probably put my name on the blacklist.. Believe me every car company has a black list.. Just excellent service from MBUSA call center.
My Dealer was actually very gracious with covering parts but I just had the worse experience with the MBUSA call center rep.
S-class 60K miles .. 4 years old.. with failing windows. Lovely...
Most likely sell the car when my StarMark warranty runs out.

Okay, now is when it gets fun... She is a gatekeeper--she did her job, but you can't let her succeed if you are to prevail. You need to find out who her manager is and send a very strong email and leave VMs. Contact some MB execs. Public negative publicity is typically their worst fear--leverage this.
BTW, I just realized that you went through MB customer service. You need to get the MB regional rep to look at your car at th dealership. This is a person that bounces between dealerships evaluating problems and deciding on whether or how they will resolve.
This person is another gatekeeper. It is likely that you will not get resolution at this person's level, so you will need to work your way up the food chain.
You can get the results that you want; it is a matter of persistence. In the end, you will have your window issue repaired at no cost, and will have a great story to tell as to how you got them to do this.

I was meaning to write a long email letter to MBUSA. I should work on that. If I dont get the rep in some heat at lease I get some type of response.
At this point I'm pretty much set on selling the car when the STAR-Crap warranty ends..
Its A Nice car but somewhat of a Piece OF Sh...t since little things fails which you dont expect.
1. Key recognizer/ computer.
2. airmatic strut hose
3. delamination of glass.
What other cars has that kind of BS...

My 2000 CL500 has the bubbles too. But not real bad.
They have not got much worse since I bought the car used
in 2004 w 18K miles. Now it has 50K.
Does heat make them grow ????
I noticed them when I bought the car.
Seems like a very common MBZ problem.
Not a hint of the little beggars on my 2005 SL55.

ah!
Mine's doing the same way. It's only occuring on the driver side / rear right window, which are used more often than passenger / rear left. I could provide any evidence towards re-call and complaints :-)
there should really be a recall for this but im sure if there was they wouldnt retint our windows if they were tint
and i bet theyd try to belame that on the tint and say u dont quailfy for it

Add me to the list of fungus windows
My wife just pointed to me yesterday and I thought it was cracked.
Mine has lower mileage 24k, but an 01.
fkong, which dealer did you go to?
akguiloff, fkong has the starmark warranty but he says they don't cover windows.

So neither MB Corp nor the local dealers admit any common fault?
Damn, why dont they step up for anything, seems like as long as the old money gop round merry go round is running for wtty work a dealer will bill the parent company out of the *** but when it comes to a $ for a customer. oh "No Sir", and then MB USA ignores all these good people that own cars out of wtty, damn , its a pice of GLASS, I have a 63 Corvette with original glass, (well apart from the front) this is a sorry *** deal MB!

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I went and got my car insepcted this morning and noticed that all the windows on my 430 have bubbles in them as well.
Any update if MB will replace them? The front passenger window is the biggest violator so far.

See what you get for washing it?
LOL I know, right? I called all the dealers around here and none of them have a sympathetic ear with the windows. 1500-2100 were the quotes from 5 dealers.
It's absolutely a major problem since all the SA's knew exactly what I was talking about.
Ah well, worth the effort at least.

If you are out of warranty you are out of luck. My Dealer offered parts replacment only and I had to pay for labor.. I had starmark and was only out of warranty for a couple thousand miles. I decided not to do it.
