ac not cooling as much as it should

hi everyone i was wondering if anyone knew whats wrong with my 2000 s500. everything seems to be working accept the cold air. like ill put it on its lowest settings and it will not cool nearly as much as it used too for some reason. i took it to my dealer they said it was overcharged and so they uncharged and then recharged again. but this still did not fix the problem.anyone have any idea what this could be?

Question??????
where, please, should the overcharge come from if nobody ever touched the A/C as long as it worked fine???????

The diag from the dealer is pure nonsense.
The lower A/C can have several reasons:
*Evapurator valve
*electric compressor clutch
*defective sensors
*dryer
*A/C cooling fan(s)
.....

oh your right i never thought about that...thanx. the dealership charged me $400 to do that. so theres no possiblitity that it could be over charged from the battery? what should i say to my service adviser? has anyone ever had this problem before?

The over charge refers to "overfilled" with refrigerant. Has nothing to do with the electric charge of the battery. A/C either is a mechanical component and has nothing to do with the electric system, besides the controls.

oh thats what the word "charge" referes to. thanx that helps alot i always that like it got like over battery charge. thanx. i talk to the dealership today and he told me it was the evaperater senser that wasnt functiong correctly and that, something with its coding in the command system wasnt showing up correctly so they replaced that for free!! its cost to repair was $650 they said and it would be paid half by mercedes and half by the dealership. i think there just saying that to make me feel better because of their fault of misdiagnosing the problem the first time. does this sound rite to u bamberger? that its the evaporater sesor that shuts off the condenser? what do u think bamberger?
