If it's cool, I don't think I would mind spending $250 on a genuine MB part.

What about paintless dent repair? An independent body shop will often do it for about $100.
I have a dent in the passenger side door panel from last month. Hand slipped the door at the gas station and the door flew open and hit a bar.
Still haven't had the chance to repair it.

i had a dent almost exactly the size of yours as well as the exact same location(on the hood above the grill right on the crease)!
the body shop i go to called in thier pdr guy and fixed it for $100
you can't even tell it was dented.
if some shops say they won't touch it, call around
