I have the same issue with a 2002 s55 . . . just posted a thread and waiting for a reply. Vacuums do not work, cant get into the trunk, keyless entry doesnt work, and the center console button does not work either.
..
tell you what, promise to let you know if I hear anything here .. hoping it's soemthing as simple as a fuse .. but the people on this site would probably know or have some experiene with it.
Thanks ..
Thank you so much for the reply .. now I hate to sound like the newb. I am to takin care of my own car, but would you know where the fuse box is and which one controls the vacum pump?
Don't have an owners manual and will start searching other threads, but thought I'd ask here too.

You have 3 fuse boxes. Two in the engine compartment (left & right) and one under the rear bench seat passenger side. You will need to check the chart for proper fuse locations. Sometimes your rear SAM (signal activity module) could be bad. The rear SAM is the entire thing holding all the fuses and relays. That was my case.
This could also be possible. Check the batteries in your remote key. They might be dead or dying and nolonger support locking and unlocking but still allow you to start your car.

Very happy to report it was just a fuse .. replaced and all is working great! Knockoutking if you are still waiting on a response I would recoment checking the fuse as a quick fix .. would like to say I did this "do it yourself" job on my own but was on the run & ended up paying $75 for a .89c job .. yeah, I know .. lazy ***!
don't do it ..
my experience told me not to bother trying .. unless there is someone with some real knowledge on how to access the rear fusebox (and there are plenty with more knowledge on this board) .. i found it inaccessable, covered with a steel plate bolted down with some backwards looking bolts ..
