Actual Different Between 03-04 S-Class & 06 S-Class?

Hi, I posted this in the S55 subforum but I don't think anyone visits that as much as the S-Class subforum.

My question is, are there any major differences internally (electronics, engine parts, etc) between the 03-04 S-class and 06 S-class (specifically S55 AMGs)? Thanks for any help!

I believe the 03 S-classes still had the 5-speed and the '04-'06s had the 7-speed. Other than that, I can't think of any major differences. Only minor ones.

Edit: I almost forgot. S55, S600 and S65 all have the 5-speeds in all years.

I heard that 06' S55 models atleast have improved intercooler pump, torque converter, supercharger clutch, etc. compared to the older 2003-2004 models. Anyone know if this is a fact?
