Scraping sound on S430, 2000. Need help.

When I turn the wheel to the left there’s a scraping sound. I have no idea where it is coming from. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

1. When car is stationary, not running.
2. Engine is running.
3. From somewhere inside I think... not sure

Just started today.

This happened to me when my airmatic system blew out. Lucky for me, I was still under warranty. If not, it can be an expensive fix.

I had the same kind of noise when I was in NJ last September. I parked overnight in couple of rainy nights and when started, I noticed that noise. I try to have it checked by a mechenic, but by the time I reached there, the noise went away and the mechenic could not find anything. I drove about 6000 miles till then. Haven't notice that sound anymore. Anything to worry about???

I've said this over and over. When your ball joints start wearing out, you get all kinds of rubbing, squeaky noises coming from your front suspension area. Get your ball joints replaced. Common problem with these cars.
