I have been searching for an S Class daily driver and have followed the S Class forums for a long time. My question is this: do the S Class AMG models share the same weakness areas as a regular 220? Airmatic pump, electrical quirks etc?
Also, anyone know how to get the campaign numbers. I ran the VMI on a particular car and got code numbers for the campaigns, but it does not tell you what it addresses.

I had a 2001 S55. They don't have Airmatic, but they do all have ABC. I had some minor problems (valving), but they were taken care of under the extended warranty. I had a couple of control module problems (mirror and seat) which also took out a SAM (main switching controller). These are typical MB electrical problems and would have been expensive if not covered by extended warranty, I'm sure.
Moral is that an extended warranty is a good idea for any modern Mercedes. It's no less or more true for AMGs.
