Help with Glove Box

Hi,

The glove box on my 02 s430 will not open, I tried the key to no avail. Someone recommended trying to reach the cable from under the panel on the box, but i'm having trouble. Does anyone have any idea or instructions to open glove box as I need to change my air filters. Thanx in advance

Remove front passenger door air outlet on the side of the instrument panel.
Guide hook over the gap behinde the instrument panel to the glove compartment lock and open the lock by means of a rotary motion.

How do you remove the front passenger door air outlet on the side of the instrument panel to get to the glove box lock? Do you use a screw driver and pry it off, thanks.
