Smile Center Vent Installation?
Anybody Knows How To Replace A Center Vent Unit?
It Seems Hard To Take Out From Front Dash.
Mine's Got Broken Grill And Needs To Be Replaced.

I did not bookmark the post, but someone has posted some detailed instructions, and I believe photos, on how to do this - either on BenzWorld or MBWorld. It was not an easy task, as I recall. Suggest you do a search for "center vent" on both sites.

Speaking of vents, anyone know where I can find this missing chrome piece?

to remove the center vent, first pry off the grill. The large one on top. You will uncover 2 screws then. Unscrew these. Using a flash light, you will see 2 locks on the bottom of the entire vent unit. Using a small flat screwdriver, pry these up and the vent unit will come out.

Seriously, I don't know except to replace the entire grille.
