Airmatic seal

Has anyone installed the airmatic seals (220 320 25 38)? I have a 2002 w220
(S320CDI) in Germany, and the light comes on after I've had the airmatic in level II (hard). I assume that the system looses air (ride or level is not effected). I do a lot of work on the car myself. I have ordered the parts, and plan to do the front when I go back. I live 6 months here, and 6 over there. Parts are VERY expensive over there because it costs $1.30 to buy a Euro. I just bought 3 apir of Bosch 946S winshield wipers for $60/pair here, over there they are about $100/pair. Anyway, any help with this repair would be greatly appreciated...thanks

You won't be able to reseal the airmatic without these original tools. Part # W220589000900 and W220589006100

I have done several of them and you will need the tripod tool to remove the circlip on top of the strut. THe second tools is to remove the brass valve and insert a new one without scratching. Not required though. I ordered the second tool and it's on back order for several months/

Hi all, I have a 2000 W220 and the rear 2 struts are leaking when the temperature goes below 0 degree F. I know about the tri-pod tool, looks easy to use... But i am concern with the residual valve tool...

Exactly what do you use to take it off? I have not tried to take out the rear strut yet... so i have no idea what the valve look like... do you use a wrench or something to loosen it? Please help! Thanks!

use a plier with a rag around brass valve to prevent scarring.

Thanks Sunman for your geat help and your posts are great!

Ok, I went to the Mercedes Dealer today and the Parts Manager told me there's only a repair kit for the front 2 airmatics... he said the rears have to be replaced and there is no repair kit...

Hmm... I thought everyone was talking about having the dealer re-seal all 4... any idea?
