03 S600 - Go for it?

Folks - I have the opportunity get a 03 S600 with a build date of 02/03. It only has 23500 miles.

Are there any major issues with this car\year\model. Should I stay clear of it or go for it.

Is there a specific year I should look at or is the 03 a sfe year for a 600.

Should I go for the V12-600-6speed or look for a V8-500.

Thanks for any advice in this decision

An early 03? Avoid it. 04 or newer and the V8 not the V12. Make sure you get the warranty. God knows you'll use it often.

Yeah I agree with Benzdriver. Alot of people I have talked to, they recommend that I should get V8 instead of V12. In other words the S55. Most of them tell me V12 has too many issues and too expensive to maintain. I can't decide an E-Class Bluetech or one of these nice great size S-Class luxury sedans.

E class FTW! I love the E class diesel. The S is a great car, but the quality problems will prevent me from buying another one for a very, very long time.

Go for it. My car has been great, no worries. Go out and dust E55s and S55s all day. It's all about torque.

find an 04 600, wont cost you much more, get a warranty, take the ESP off and shred some tires
