I finally got some thrust in my S600..!
Hi again.
I recently wrote to you about my 2004 S600's lack of thrust.
Thanks for all the help and tips!
The problem was that the "chip tuning" turned out to be the opposite, because the german tuner gave the car -100 hp with his damned chip..!
So with the original data (stock again) it was a lot faster.
But still, you want more if it's duable for a resonable cost, right?
So now, I've had the car at this swedish tuner with 15 years experience (Tumba Turbocenter) in Stockholm. And he's done a terrific job there!
He has a dyno, and tested it there after his job.
The car now has 562 hp on the wheels!!!
So my question to you guys, how many percent more is that on the engine?
This tuner says about 15%, as a guess.
Is that right, or does anyone have another opinion/experience..?
And, also important, what is first to break (gearbox, the drive, axle or what..?)
Kindest regards

Sorry to tell you, that the tuner told me that the first numbers he gave me on the phone, were false... Because of "inaccurate calibration" of the mashine, some how...
So, the car turned out to be a bit weaker.
It develops 541,3 WHP to be exact! (Hope my attachment works).
But I would like to know the percent up to engine hp.
According to 415 WHP stock, it would have to be 20%. If that is correct.
In that case, I would have 650 engine hp.
Or does anyone have the WHP numbers for S65, because that is what I would like to compare with. That's why. Anybody..?
Kindest regards

I've been around the block many times w/tuners, yours sounds very savy! but the Automatic 5 speed gear box in your Merc 600, power loss is more reasonably set at 18% manuals or (stick) are 13%-15% I've heard plenty of BS tuners even go as high as 22% driveline loss just trying to over inflate their tuning results your 600 is stout! here's a great fool proof equation to find brake or crank hp.
Take your 541 divide / it by .82% = 659.75 crank horsepower! 18% loss
