A little to much. Somewhat tacky with the gilled fenders.

Lorinser body kit, Lorinser spoiler, Japanese Lowenhart LD1 bling bling wheels. Those gills are wacked and little over the top and this guy should have stuck to a German wheel, but then that's my opinion.

I've heard...

...cars like this (and lowered suburbans on anodized gold dayton wheels with metalic green paintjobs) referred to as having the GNP edition.

i.e.- the Ghetto Negro Package.

Just what I've heard, please don't kill the messenger.

There are no African Americans working for Manfred Lorinser!

I always wondered how something like that could be considered 'Ghetto" and no one in the Ghetto designed, built or marketed it. Can anyone explain how that package can be 'Ghetto' when it was designed for and by Germans or Italian and mainly the European market.

There is no one in the Lorinser front office or the Lorinser design center who has influences from the 'hood', the 'barrio' , the 'slums' the inner center or any U.S. Ghetto nor anyone remotely African American working at Lorinser!

might be

because it appeals to be people or sub-culture that some consider ghetto (read as tacky).

It's not Ghetto unless the person who drives it looks the part.....

Our society is really prejudiced towards cars that look ricey or ghetto like you guys put it if certain types of people drive it but if you put a celebrity driving that car, then suddenly it changes.

Personally I think those fenders are a bit over the top but who's to say that some of the mods I do are any less. It's just personal taste and good to see a variety or otherwise it would be one boring forum

I'm not sure on this, but I was told that HRE is a Japanese company and the "H" stands for Hayashi........which used to make all the cool old school rims for imports.

Anyone know for sure?
