stuck in park
any one had this problem and know how to fix it.
regards david
As to how exactly it's done, I saw the roadside assistance person do the following:
He twisted the gear knob left and right really hard and then the knob came off.
Then, while pulling back on the gear shifter really hard with his left hand, he hit the the top of the gear shifter with a hammer. He had to hit it hard a few times, until the shifter released. He then put the car into neutral and put on the hand brake.
Note: the roadside assistance person first checked my brake light switch to see if that was the problem, before doing the above.
Internal plastic lever is there to prevent children from inadvertedly moving the gearstick lever out of Park. Removing the lever may cause your car to roll away down a hill with your kids inside.
Choose from original plastic or high strength aluminum. Repairs can be done by any reputable MBZ shop in about an hour or two. No need for recoding with Star Diagnosis.
