Before you buy tires for your new wheels, are you sure they're 16's? In '01 the S500 went to 17's stock, and unless I'm wrong, so did the S430.

Forget it, I am wrong - just checked the MBUSA site, and 16's were still standard in '02; they went to 17's in '03.

I doubt those wheels are made to fit for C classes. Try calling the Mercedes dealer and asking.

Those 16s aren't AMG wheels. lol

Doubt they would fit. Sell them for $250 and be done with.

I hate to bust all of your guys bubble on this, but those wheels will fit with no problem.

Give me a break they are Stock 16's which means that are only 7.5 to 8.0 wide. the 2001 C240 comes with 16's already even 17's in the sport model except they are 7.5 wide.

most larger After Market wheels for the C240's are 8.5 even 9.0's in the rear.

The issue is getting the correct MB bolt in a 12mm. That's all. those bolts are a dime a dozen. He just has to look past the MB parts guys computer screen.

If I can take the 19's off my C230 and they work on my S430 with different tires and lugs, I can do the same with 16's.

Size isn't the issue. Indeed, it the lug bolts. What I was thinking is these wheels only accept 14mm bolts. You think they would run 12mm? I know some wheels will run either just fine (my 19s came off a C230).

the ball seat lug and hub center should index in the wheels correctly.. You have to get the right length for the lug bolt.

S430 AMG with 16" wheels? AMG package AKA sport package should have 18" staggered wheels.

My Stock S430 wheels are 16" and they are ugly.

I was thinking the same thing>> Why put those ugly wheels on anything?? LOL Anywayz, I think this guy is only like 16 years old or something and he did state that he didn't know anything, so who knows what he actually has..

Newton22, A wheel that works with a 14mm hole will certainly accept a 12mm diameter screw because it's smaller. On the other hand, if there was a wheel with an exact 12mm hole, then there would be an issue getting them on a 14mm setup But most wheels today including factory wheels have a standard hole size of 14.5mm regardless to the lug bolt requirement. As flong777 stated, the ball seat is where the indexing and centering happens. The ball OR cone shape and size is standard by industry on all different size lugbolts.

Off the subject a bit Newton22,

I noticed in another thread you were running 245 35 19, and 275 30 19's right? this is the same setup I had been running for a while but finally went to the correct size of 245 40 19, and 275 35 19 in bridgestones and guess what?

I had to raise my car up a bit because the back touched slightly. I know you use the same method of lowering as I do, so I just wanted to caution you when you go to the correct size tires that it might be a bit too low, OR just what you have been trying to get. I was amazed at the tire height difference between 245 40 vs 245 45, and 275 30 vs 275 35. But now it looks pretty good all the way around I have about 1.5 gap in the front and 1.25 in the rear. Sorry for getting off topic.

Oh okay, I see, thanks for the lesson. As you can tell, I really don't know much about wheels.

I run 235/35-19 and 265/30-19. I know, they're pretty dang small for this car, and guess what, my car is so low I can still manage to rub if I leave the suspension in comfort mode and fly over a change in surface level on the road.

Even though my car still has wheelgap (two-three fingers) because of the small diameter, my car is very low, though people can't tell because many like to judge by wheelgap.
