K&N drop in filters

Yeah, I don't know, I'm not feeling anything at all from these, if anything, I think I lost torque??

I made sure I installed it correctly, along with the seals etc. Not that I was expecting power out of drop in filters, but I would think the car would get slightly louder during WOT.

I should have just gotten the stocks.

Not for nothin' but make sure you didn't over oil the K&N's and get a small amount on the MAF sensor. In my past experience with those filters on 'vette TPI motors and others the big advantage is the "lifetime" filter deal. When they get dirty you just clean them and re-oil.

K&N Filters are great, I had one in my C280 and I can tell you I felt better performance.

It came pre-oiled. Not only that, I let it sit overnight to dry it up a bit just for good measure.

I've used these filters for sometime now and I honestly havent' seem any difference. Guess it's just the idea of having filters that last a long time.

I had one in my last W202 and it felt as if throttle response was a bit better, however, I had my car dynoed with and without the K and N fitted and it made 0hp difference.

On my w203 I haven't fitted a K and N but have updated the stock more regularly (they get very dirty) and frankly I reckon I feel a bigger difference by fitting a new stock one than a "sport" filter.

Maybe MB designed the stock one better than we think!
