Check fuses. Yank on it. If nothing happens leave it alone. If you want to fix it get a new motor for the shade. I have removed one before and it was a PITA. Rear seats come out, parcel shelf comes out, trunk panels and rear head rests come out, THEN take out the shade unit. Most likely the motor is weakened, and dying. Seriously leave it alone unless you wanna pay................

Samo818, in the case that your's is up, try wiggling both sides of the window shade bar while the car is running. You can also try the same approach with someone pushing the shade button while you are wiggling it around.

I did it!!! So the shaking and stuff didnt work i opened the trunk and located the motor and theres a small thing sticking out from the motor while i had someone push the button, i pressed that thing nd it started to roll, my conclusion is that that little thing gets stuck and someone has to press it to work

just like Samo818 my car is doing the same thing. I don’t know how he made it work. I looked in the trunk, found the motor but couldn’t get anything to happen. It’s stuck in the up position and I can’t stand driving like that.

I know this is an old thread, but this worked for me: Get someone ready to push the shade button on the dash with the car running. Get in the back seat and grab both side arms. Tell your helper to push the button...immediately pull the outside arms towards the center of the rear glass from the side. This will free up the arms and allow it to go all the way down.
This worked for me. I am going to leave it alone, keep it closed and not tempt fate !!
