Looking for these tail lights

I'd like to buy these tail lights, but the eBay user doesn't post internationally.... I was wondering if you guys could help me keep an eye out for these somewhere, website is good, a shop is also fine...

There appears to be two types of clear lens, the somple clear ones which I do not want, and these chrome inlay clear lens.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone running with a clear taillight assembly?

These look good, but the driving light is clear in the stock taillight, since stock tail assembly has a red lens. With these clear tail assemblies, the stock bulb looks like you're backing up all the time, since it's pretty bright.

Anyone have experience running with red bulbs in one of these clear assemblies? Also, a regular red bulb might look crappy, since it's easily visible during the day. I tried using red bulb tape, but that was terrible. It seems you need a bulb that is metallic/reflective on the top, and red around the sides - so it lights up red at night but doesn't stand out like a red spot during the daytime. Because of these issues, and warning lights experienced, I am simply running now with the OEM assembly.

thanks shaun, I'll try the seller you mentioned...

e55bliss, i was planning on cramming in some of these bulbs (plus load resistors) into the driving lights and turn indicators...

but if it starts to get too messy then I'll just have to live with coloured bulbs.

That's great - a lot of choices there.

Beware of voltage, etc. Some of these off-market bulbs might end up giving warnings - I did try one of these and it was giving a TAIL LIGHT LEFT SUBSTITUTED error. I was told that the voltage regulation might have been a little altered by the 3rd party bulb. So I returned it and ended up back with OEM everything.

Let us know which bulbs you end up with, lots of luck, and post some pics of your final project!

I might come back to this thread and do the same in a couple of months if you have success with those bulbs.

The LED's won't work properly for 3 reasons.
1st: you need a pretty big ballast to realize the electronic light check of the W220. otherwise you will get failure messages. For brake lights it is a 20Watts ballast for the driving light it 2x5Watts, each side
2nd: you won't get the multi-LEDs into the lights
3rd: The reflectors/lenses inside the lights cannot cope with the light distribution of the LED's.
