I would first check the ambient sensor to be sure it is in the proper place. I have seen its location posted before, but don't recall it; however, I had a similar problem on an Audi some years back, and found that it had become dislodged and was getting a bit of airflow from the radiator.
The search tool here and on BenzWorld may reveal its location if it isn't readily visible.

7 Degrees off
It is off in comparison to temperature readings on digital displays on a couple of banks in town that show time and temp.I know that these bank readings are accurate because they were identical to my ambient temp reading on my previous Benz which I traded in 3 weeks ago.
My user manual says the temp sensor on the car is under the front bumper.

Check the location of the probe. It's supposed to be in the air intake grille...drivers side(US) low outside. Mine was dislodged once and started giving goofy readings. If it is...pop it back in the hole/socket that it's designed to be in and it should work properly. Otherwise try replacing the sensor.
