Is it possible for me to install a power trunk closer? like the originals? has anyone done this I would think the dealer would have to do this or is it a diys job?

It's doable but it's a big job. The unit is hydraulic and you need to install two switches in the trunk lid and one in the driver's door. I think the dealer will charge at least $2,000. Some independents will do it as well. Easiest way is get a quote from a dealer you trust.

yes it is possible. I have done a few w220 and w221 trunk closers.
