Used S 430 vs New E
If I can get it down to 56 or 55K I would be really happy.
A new E320 runs about 53K but is so much smaller than an S. What do you think?
Go for the S430.
But hey, this is only my opinion. If you want to have a completely new car, take the E. But S is always S.
You could buy a well optioned 2002 S430 for less than a well optioned 2003 E500 .
Remember, most people ( meaning those who don't read this board ) think any new S class is an almost $100K car , while they think of an E Class as a $50 K car !

But the 2003 has too many changes, the whole car is different...every angle has a difference.
Also here in Silicon Valley, where 1000s are being layed off regularly , I think some dealers are hungry enough to take my suggested offer. What have you got to lose ? The serious buyer is in the drivers seat at this time in the economy.
Someone was selling his $125K 2001 Porsche Twin Turbo and a dealer offered $84K as "generous "- whoaa nelly !
