s430 Memory Loss or something

I have a 01 s430 and and all of sudden when I change setting in the options such as fold mirrors, memorize seat, etc... it won't do anything anymore. Everything seems to be off. the steering wheel won't even go up anyone when you remove the key....

any suggestions?

Do mirrors auto-fold on these?

I have a 2001 S500-my mirrors will fold in if i hold down the fold button-but i didn't think they could auto fold-when you turn the car off, i thought that feature came on later models...can anyone help?

Most sources say that the autofold began in 2003. gac has reported this behavior on a 2002. It's possible that it was a late build that got a cluster and SAM with the updated software. (All W220's had motorized mirrors for manual control via the door button.) In any case, most 2002 and earlier models don't autofold.

If your 2001 has a cluster menu to turn autofold on, you don't have the original cluster. Did you get it replaced, perhaps via the recall? If so, they might not have version-coded it properly. If it's out of sync with your SAM and or other control modules, anything can happen.
