washer method question

Added 3 washers to lower front of my 2002 s500. Total thickness of all three washers was 4mm. Before washers were added I measured 27 7/8" from top of fenderwell to conrete. After adding the washers and starting to reset, to my suprise, no change. It still measures 27 7/8 inches. Anyone have an idea why the washer lowering method did not work for me? Thanks

Did you adjust the rear also? your car will always seek it's level so if you don't bring down the rear, that's why it measured the same.

Another note is that I had to drive my car down the street and back before I noticed any change.

Make sure you installed it correctly. The washers go UNDER the control arm, not over it. The point of the washers is the change the angle of the sensor rod.

Yes, I put the washers on correctly under the A-arm. I did not lower the rear yet. I wanted to have a little more aggressive stance in the front. I drove the car about 500 miles this weekend, still no change.

i have never tried 3 washers.. only started at 4.. however just throwing out a possibility that 3 washer may be just within the tolerance of the ecu self height adjustment.. .. Add another washer or 2 to see if it gets lower. Maker sure you can measure correctly. i just measure the wheel gap to the fender.

remove all the washers. drive a few hundred yards. measure..
Add 4 washers drive a few hundred yards and measure again.
You should have at lease 3/4 inch drop with 4 washers.
my car is dropped about 1.5 inch with 6 washers.
