'06 ML500 w/Apperance pkg & '07 SL550 w/AMG pkg
'03 S-class Brochures
We have just received the '03 S-class brochures and the S55 and the S600 are rated with the exact same horsepower: 493 bhp. I am a little suprised that the S600 did not get to 500 bhp on the dyno, IMHO the car has more horses under the hood than MBUSA wants to let on. Just my 2 cents!!!!

Actually, I think it's clever marketing. Both cars have " same " hp, so buyer can opt for " sport" or smooth luxury . Most buyers don't understand peak HP rpm or broadness of TQ band, Hp vs weight, etc., so " same" HP is enough for them !

The bi-turbo V12 has way more torque that the V8K. The 55 is rated at 516lb/ft between 2750-4000rpms & the 600 has 590lb/ft between 1800-3500rpms. The V12 is way more torquy (if that is a word) than the V8k. Also the 600 is 310lbs heavier at the curb than the 55, 4610lbs vs 4300lbs!!!

I think we will have brochures for sure sometime in November. I'm still waiting for the Canadian web site to be updated as well, and of course, most importantly, waiting for the car.
