Bay Area Mechanics

Hellos everyone .. I'm looking for a good mechanic to work on my 01' S500 in the Bay Area (I live in Piedmont and work in Antioch and Fairfield).

My mechanic told me my left front strut arm (I'm sure I'm not using the correct term) is worn out & needs to be replaced so he ordered a new one .. and now he says he can't get the last two bolts that attach it to the strut itself off (frozen I guess) so he wants me to buy an entirely new strut assembly even though the existing one is good!

This will more that triple the cost of the parts alone .. and I know there is a way to get the bolts out even if it's resorting to drilling them .. but to spend $1,400 on a part that does not need to be replaced is repulsive to me.

Sorry for the long winded explaination, but if anyone knows of a good mechanic in any of these areas I'd appreciate it!

Thanks,

Try Moran Autosport (751 Folger Ave, Berkeley). Steve is cool, he's the owner and works on only BMW and Mercedes. I go to him for brakes, and other things as well. They treat you good and the price is fair.

My baby goes to either of these two Mercedes doctors both only do high end cars only
Vallejo Car Care Clinic
320 Mississippi
Vallejo, CA 94590
(707) 553-2495

Did my brakes, caltytic convertor replacement, and scheduled checkups

or Urick in Vallejo too...forgot the name of this shop his number is 707-396-0573

Urick has worked on my car when the pedal sensor went out and oil changes...

I like the first guy better because he is flexible with his 8-5 shop hours.
