My Stealer is telling me over $400 and not covered under warranty because it is giving an event code and not a fault code.

This is the cost for one wheel sensor. The others are working.

At the dealer they are 150.00 each. They probably are killing you on installation since they are not a tire shop.

Tire Rack sell a set for 356. these are what I have on my car and seem to be a lot more reliable.

Thanks for the info.........

I'm still scratching my head wondering how an event code is different than a fault code. The thing is broken and under warranty - fix it.....

Yeah.. sounds like they are trying to have an unsolicited intimate relationship with you if you know what I mean. Those things are a P.I.A and they know it.. so they are trying to make you pay for it outside warranty?? That's B.S. A code is a code. and usually ends up with something getting replaced or repaired. How can they say thats not covered? I'd challenge that BullS&*t.

I've heard of dealers in the country that behave like that.. I'm glad the guys in my area are halfway decent in that regard...

But like I said before.. The OEM sensors are nothing but trouble any wayz.. so I would just get a set from T.R and take them to whomever does your tires for you ( hopefully its not you know who..) and let them install them for you. Mine were bad for about 7 or 8 months and I just left them alone because I wanted to absorb the installation costs with the price of my new tires.

If you have the white indication on your MFD, don;t reset it, and it will go away along with that irritating yellow light after you drive a few minutes.. Then when you shut off the car and start again, the MFD will come on again, just ignore it and it will go away. If you keep reseting it, the yellow light will stay on.

Just a little trick I learned while i was dealing with mine. There was no way in hell the dealer was going to get 600 bucks from me for that crap.

If you are getting tires or rims and tires soon, just wait and have tire rack put the whole set together for you its less expensive.

I got 20" rims , tires, sensors, mounted balanced an delivered for 1700 and change. reprogrammed my TPMS in all of 3 minutes and now I couldn't be happier.

It gets better..........

I told them not to replace the sensor in the wheel and I picked up the car. Now the system wont reset and I am not getting a reading from any wheels. On the drive home it pulled slightly to the right and a mild vibration at 70mph.

I hate getting a car back in worse condition than I gave it to them in.

To really add salt to the wound they left the car out last night. It rained and left dirty water spots. I've never seen the car in worse condition.
